Thanksgiving Basket Collection
Every year, Community Reach distributes Thanksgiving baskets to those in need. Help us collect items to fill baskets! Needed items (and quantity listed for 1 basket) is: $30 Giant/Safeway gift card (1), Stuffing (2 boxes), Gravy (2 cans/jars) Cranberry sauce (2 cans), Instant potatoes (1 box), Yams (2 cans), Vegetables (3 16 oz. cans), Apple juice (1 64 oz. container), Dessert (apple/pumpkin pie ingredients or 1 box cake mix and 1 can of frosting). Items will be collected through Sunday, November 17. Monetary donations are also accepted – please designate your gift to Thanksgiving baskets.

Interfaith Works Community Conversation
On November 21 at 7pm, Interfaith Works will host part 2 of the conversation: "WHAT DOES THE FAITH COMMUNITY SAY ABOUT ECONOMIC JUSTICE?". State of Denomination Report
Come and discuss the role of the church today and explore how it relates to our congregation. Rev. Jihyun Oh, Stated Clerk of the PC (USA) General Assembly will speak and lead. The church is located at 610 Frederick Ave., in Gaithersburg.
Faith Exploration: Civil Religion
Dr. Rick Elgendy will lead us in an exploration of ways to live out our faith in the public realm. He teaches public theology and ethics at Wesley Theological Seminary. His next book, Life Among the Powers: A Political Spirituality of Resistance, illuminates the topic in depth.
Trivia Night for Benefit Rainbow Place
RPC is putting together a team(s) to participate in the second Rainbow Place trivia contest that is taking place on Thursday, October 10 at Give A Hoot Comedy Club on Shady Grove Road in Gaithersburg. The contest starts at 7:00 and lasts for about an hour and a half. Team members can order dinner beforehand at 6:30. Tickets cost $20 a person. All RPC members and friends are invited to join the RPC team. Contact Pat Wolff at or let the church office know you would like to participate.

Tuesday, October 8th – Lunch Bunch from noon to 2:00pm - Bring your own lunch and meet in the Calvin Room to break bread together in fellowship. All are welcome.
Annual Community Blessing of the Animals
Come share fellowship and blessings with other pet owners in our community at RPC’s Annual Blessing of the Animals! There will be a brief prayer service on the front lawn of RPC. All pets (even stuffed/toy animals) with their families are invited to attend. If your pet can't attend with you, bring a recent photo to share. All are welcome and we hope to see you and your cherished pets there!
Seed Fundraiser
Seeds Fundraiser! RPC will be selling high quality organic seeds (vegetables, flowers, and kitchen herbs). You can purchase seeds and also sell seeds to your friends and neighbors for the next 5 weeks. Pick up order forms after worship on Sundays, or in the church office during the week. Taiwan National Day Celebration
RPC members are invited to join the 2024 Taiwan National Day Celebration on Saturday, 10/5 at 11:00 am at Cultural Center of TECRO (901 Wind River Ln, Gaithersburg, MD 20878). This event features live music performances presented by RPC Minister of Music Huai-En Tsai and RPC violinist Shu-Ting Yao. Taiwanese food vendors and festivals will follow immediately after the ceremony.

This Small Group celebrates parents and their kids! We will meet in the Calvin Room or on the playground if weather permits. Bring a dish to share for a potluck meal. RPC will provide the beverages and dessert. Huai-En will lead the kids in some musical fun. Rally Day
Begin the new Sunday School Year with friends and fun on September 8th. This is the Kick-Off of our Sunday School Education year. RPC will host an Ice-Cream Sundae social and a Balloon artist after Worship and Sunday School!
CAT Survey
CAT Survey: We want to hear from you! Session is asking you to complete the Congregational Assessment Tool survey, to get your input and reflections on RPC’s past, present, and future. The survey period will begin on Sunday, September 8. More information about the survey will be mailed and emailed to the congregation in the coming weeks.

Sunday School Teachers Needed!
The Faith Formation committee is looking for additional lead teachers and assistant teachers for Sunday School (ages 5+) this fall. With at least two more teachers, it’s a commitment of just one Sunday or less per month. All materials are provided. Help our children grow in their faith! Blessing of the Backpacks
Bring in your school supplies or backpacks to worship on August 25th for a prayer and bring blessings with you to school all year long! All students, from nursery school to grad school are invited to bring their backpacks for a special blessing!

Sort Clothing at Interfaith Works
Volunteer at the Interfaith Works Clothing Center on Saturday, August 3rd from 10am to12pm: Help deliver our school supply collection to Interfaith Works then join the Mission Committee in volunteering to sort school supplies, clothes, and food. Volunteers must be 14 years old and should expect to be standing while volunteering. To participate, please RSVP to Rachel Jung.

Plan to be at RPC's annual family picnic for all ages at Waredaca Farm Brewing Company from 12:00pm to 2:00pm (but you can hang around longer if you want). Dress for worship ahead of the picnic is "Picnic Casual."
Rainbow Place Shelter Trivia Night
Rainbow Place Shelter Trivia Night! Rockville Presbyterian Church is putting together a team to compete in Rainbow Place's first ever trivia night. Information about tickets will be on their website's event page soon! The competition starts at 7:30 pm on Thursday, July 11 and will run about 90 minutes at Give A Hoot Comedy Club at 16143 Shady Grove Road, Gaithersburg. RPC has pre-purchased eight tickets at $20 a person. Please contact Pat Wolff to join RPC's team.

School Supply Collection: Now through July 28th bring in school supplies for our Interfaith Works School Supply Collection. Each year, Interfaith Works distributes school supplies to those in need and last year distributed supplies to over 2,000 kids. Bring items to the Calvin Room or order online through our Amazon Wishlist https://a.co/ceiWGuv. Needed items: pencils (box of 10), glue sticks, erasers, scissors, crayons, composition notebooks, spiral notebooks, packaged paper, folders, markers (box of 10), ruler, index cards, pens (black and blue), highlighters, binders (1 inch), binder dividers, backpacks (any size), pencil pouches.
RPC's Junteenth Worship at Jerusalem-Mt. Pleasant UMC
RPC’s Juneteenth Worship Service at Jerusalem-Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Sunday, June 23rd at 10:00am. We will celebrate Juneteenth with a joint service with our friends at JMPUMC, just 2 blocks from RPC, at 21 Wood Lane. NEW TIME and LOCATION of this Sunday’s worship allow us to share this special service with our a faith community in our neighborhood. Regular worship services in RPC’s building will not be held as all are encouraged to join us at the JMPUMC location.
