Souper Bowl of Caring
Sunday February 9 is Super Bowl Sunday and Souper Bowl Sunday! Bring canned goods to church in January through Sunday, February 9 to donate to Manna Food Bank. Comedy Night to Support Rainbow Place – January 23-25, 2025
Give a Hoot is celebrating its 2nd anniversary from January 23 through 25th and has chosen Rainbow Place to be the beneficiary of the weekend’s proceeds. Give a Hoot Comedy Club is Montgomery County’s only full-time comedy club. Through their “Comedy For The Community” program, they partner with a different nonprofit each week. This year they have already raised over $25,000 for their nonprofit partners in Montgomery County. Last year was Rainbow Place’s first time partnering with Give a Hoot. Sight and Sound Theatre
Friday, April 11, bus leaves at 8:30 a.m. Join our friends at Jerusalem Mount Pleasant Church for a bus trip to see the Sight and Sound Theater production of the story of Noah and the flood. Trip also includes delux transportation, snacks, and lunch at Shady Maple Smorgasbord all for $185 per person. Make checks payable to United Women in Faith. Payment due March 2. Potluck with Jerusalem Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church

Christmas Eve Candlelight service for families
Children and adults of all ages are invited and welcomed to come together in joyful anticipation as we celebrate the glorious birth of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Join RPC for an engaging worship service, enlivened with the timeless melodies of cherished carols and the radiant glow of candlelight. Pastor Susan Graceson will infuse a light-hearted and interactive retelling of the birth story, as we create treasured memories and kindle the spirit of Christmas within our hearts.

Christmas Toy Distribution: Join Pastor Susan in distributing the Christmas toys that we collected on Thursday, December 19 3-7pm. Children's Christmas Pageant
Celebrate the joyous occasion of Jesus' birth as you witness the adorable children of Rockville Presbyterian Church donning delightful costumes and using props to bring the timeless story to our congregation during morning worship at 10:30 am. Under the direction of our Minister of Music, Huai-En Tsai, they will sing and portray the cherished tale of God’s action in our lives, sure to evoke smiles and delight audiences of every age.

State of Denomination Report
Come and discuss the role of the church today and explore how it relates to our congregation. Rev. Jihyun Oh, Stated Clerk of the PC (USA) General Assembly will speak and lead. The church is located at 610 Frederick Ave., in Gaithersburg.
Faith Exploration: Civil Religion
Dr. Rick Elgendy will lead us in an exploration of ways to live out our faith in the public realm. He teaches public theology and ethics at Wesley Theological Seminary. His next book, Life Among the Powers: A Political Spirituality of Resistance, illuminates the topic in depth.
Thanksgiving Basket Collection
Every year, Community Reach distributes Thanksgiving baskets to those in need. Help us collect items to fill baskets! Needed items (and quantity listed for 1 basket) is: $30 Giant/Safeway gift card (1), Stuffing (2 boxes), Gravy (2 cans/jars) Cranberry sauce (2 cans), Instant potatoes (1 box), Yams (2 cans), Vegetables (3 16 oz. cans), Apple juice (1 64 oz. container), Dessert (apple/pumpkin pie ingredients or 1 box cake mix and 1 can of frosting). Items will be collected through Sunday, November 17. Monetary donations are also accepted – please designate your gift to Thanksgiving baskets.
Trivia Night for Benefit Rainbow Place
RPC is putting together a team(s) to participate in the second Rainbow Place trivia contest that is taking place on Thursday, October 10 at Give A Hoot Comedy Club on Shady Grove Road in Gaithersburg. The contest starts at 7:00 and lasts for about an hour and a half. Team members can order dinner beforehand at 6:30. Tickets cost $20 a person. All RPC members and friends are invited to join the RPC team. Contact Pat Wolff at or let the church office know you would like to participate.

Annual Community Blessing of the Animals
Come share fellowship and blessings with other pet owners in our community at RPC’s Annual Blessing of the Animals! There will be a brief prayer service on the front lawn of RPC. All pets (even stuffed/toy animals) with their families are invited to attend. If your pet can't attend with you, bring a recent photo to share. All are welcome and we hope to see you and your cherished pets there!
