Join us on Sunday, April 14th following worship for the Welcome Home Program Presentation.  Catalina Conneally-Salazar will tell us about opportunities to support people who have been released from prison and need support to get back on their feet.  The program offers mentors, job recruitment, hygiene products, and more. The Mission Committee will lead us in assembling hygiene care packets for Welcome Home Participants.

Bring your lunch and join us for conversation and fellowship. We will meet in the Calvin Room and we'll make Valentines cookies for the staff, volunteers,  and guests of Rainbow Place! All are welcome!

Our newest Small Group celebrates parents and their kids! Bring a dish to share for a potluck meal in the Calvin Room. Music Minister, Huai-En, will lead a musical showcase and Pastor Susan will present a short devotion.  Join us as we build a community for parents and kids to play together, sing together, and share about family life in a safe and faithful space. The Worship Committee is looking for new members to join us for our next Zoom meeting. If you have volunteered your services as an usher, lay leader, or communion server then you already have a good idea about what the Worship Committee is all about. Come be a part of future planning and have a voice in all aspects of putting on a worship service.

Our team works to identify new sources of income to support our ministries.  The Revenues Team meets at least once a month (zoom or in-person) to prayerfully consider creative ways to support God’s work in this community.  If you think you can enhance this team, have new ideas you’d like to share, or are interested in volunteering your time, please contact Elder Dave Tucker or Pastor Susan to become part of this crucial team at RPC.  All members and friends are welcome!

EASTER WORSHIP CELEBRATION – 10:30 am

Easter marks the Resurrection of Jesus three days after his death by crucifixion. Rejoice with us – as we sing Hallelujah and enjoy special music.

He is risen, He is risen, indeed!

POTLUCK BREAKFAST – 9:30 am

Bring a breakfast item to share as we gather together in the Calvin Room in preparation for our Easter Celebration.

All are welcome as we watch the sunrise, sing a cappella and shout “Hallelujah, He is risen!” We will meet on the front lawn of the church and experience the sunrise as we worship.

 Good Friday commemorates Jesus' crucifixion and death on the cross. We are reminded that Jesus died in order for people to have a stronger relationship with God. Friday, March 29th at 7 pm the Good Friday Service will be a stations of the cross service and will include readings and music honoring the final moments of Christ's life leading up to the crucifixion.

Celebrate Maundy Thursday with us on the evening of March 28th. The Thursday before Easter commemorates Jesus Christ's institution of the Eucharist during the Last Supper. We will have a simple potluck meal of bread and soup at 6:00 pm, followed by a joint worship service with EIPC at 7:00 that will include dramatic readings, sacrament of holy communion, and meditative singing. Communion will be served.

Join our Worship Service on Sunday, March 24th at 10:30am. We will begin the service with a procession, waving palms, as we remember Jesus’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem.

This service marks the beginning of Holy Week.

The path from ashes to alleluias is one that we walk together, in community. We will come together for meditative prayer crafted by the clergy from Washington National Cathedral. Themes will include loss, healing, contemplation, strength, and faith.

Join us after worship to celebrate Barbara Brady as she says good-bye to RPC after over six years as our Office Manager. Barbara is often the face of church as she manages tenants, receives prayer requests, and helms the hub of information for our congregation. We will miss the big smile and loving heart she always brought to her work.

Stay after worship for an important Congregational Meeting. We will be voting on this year’s Session Leaders.

The Tuesday Lunch Bunch Small Group meets the second Tuesday of the month. All are welcome!

RPC’s next Faith Journey presentation and potluck will take place after worship on March 10th.  WRPC will interview members of our congregation, Sue Anderson and Harry Redd, so we may get to know each other better and learn that we have companions in our own faith journeys.  Please bring a dish to share.

Rockville United Church is graciously hosting a concert to benefit our Rockville Emergency Assistant Program on March 3rd from 4-6pm. Enjoy performances by local choruses and help us raise money to support the work REAP does in helping families facing financial crisis. Thank you to the RUC youth group for creating posters for the event.

Join us to honor and celebrate Black History Month! On Friday, April 23, at 11 a.m., we will tour the Jerusalem United Methodist Church. Church Historian Chiquita Sorrels will lead the tour of this Rockville landmark. The church was established in the early 1800s during the time of separatism, and has a rich history of faith and perseverance. Come to learn more about this beautiful church and community. Plan to have lunch together afterwards at a local eatery. The church is located at 21 Wood Lane, just 2 blocks from RPC.
