Rockville Presbyterian Church serves its local community, as well as other organizations and people internationally to help spread God's grace and love.

The Tour de Cookie benefiting the Tree House CAC of Montgomery County is back for another year of fun, fitness, and fundraising!

The event takes place on May 4th, 2024. Register individuals and families to ride bicycles along the route dotted with cookie stops to raise money benefiting Montgomery County’s most vulnerable children. More information HERE.

RPC’s Friday Night Small Group has begun planning for our Cookie Booth along the cycling route. If you would like to help bake cookies or man the booth on race day, please contact Patti at worship@rockvillepres.org.


Volunteer Opportunities

Community Reach of Montgomery County (formerly Community Ministries of Rockville) seeks to improve the quality of life for the most vulnerable of Montgomery County residents by providing basic services including housing, healthcare, homecare, education, and emergency assistance.

For 40 years Rainbow Place has provided women emergency overnight shelter during the winter months and assisted them as they transitioned to a better quality of life. They work with women at the very beginning of their transition out of homelessness. The primary focus is to keep the women they serve safe during the harsh winter months and help transition them out of homelessness. Rainbow Place is open from November 1 - March 31. Guests receive a warm, safe place to sleep, a hot dinner, breakfast, a bag lunch, shower, laundry facilities, access to case management, and referrals to local social service and treatment programs. Interfaith Works is an interfaith coalition of more than 165 affiliated congregations of diverse faiths, working together to meet the needs of the poor and homeless in Montgomery County, Md. Volunteer opportunities can be found at: https://www.iworksmc.org/volunteer/

Kaseman Clinic provides healthcare and health education for underserved Montgomery County adult residents. Services include primary health care, specialty health services, pharmacy and lab tests. Consider donating items the clinic routinely needs: Small toys for children 6 months-11 years as they receive COVID vaccines, C-Fold Paper Towels, Hand Sanitizer, Antibacterial Hand Soap, Trash Bags, Disinfecting Wipes, Scouring Powder, Window Cleaner, Facial Tissue, Bleach, Disinfectant Spray, Dishwashing Liquid.

Purchasing a Rockville Rewards Card helps support Community Reach/Interfaith Works/Rainbow Place and other local businesses. Other Organizations We Serve

Christmas Joy Gift - will be collected through January. The Joy Gift helps support past, present, and future leaders of the Presbyterian Church. To contribute, use the special envelopes in the pew, or donate online or in-person while designating your gift for “Christmas Joy”.

Kiva
Kiva is an international nonprofit, founded in 2005 in San Francisco, with a mission to expand financial access to help underserved communities thrive. They do this by crowdfunding loans and unlocking capital for the underserved, improving the quality and cost of financial services, and addressing the underlying barriers to financial access around the world. Since 2012, RPC has made nearly 50 loans across 27 different countries to support efforts in: Agriculture, Retail Services, Health, Education, Food, Housing, Arts, and Manufacturing.

One Great Hour of Sharing
The three programs supported by One Great Hour of Sharing - Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and Self-Development of People - all work in different ways to serve individuals and communities in need. From initial disaster response to ongoing community development, their work fits together to provide people with safety, sustenance, and hope.

Manna Food Center
Manna is committed to eliminating hunger in Montgomery County, MD. We support this organization through collections, including their Souper Bowl of Caring each year.
