Jack Baur, Chair of the Buildings and Grounds Team

I have loved gardening from a very early age…really, really loved gardening.  I helped both of my grandmothers in their gardens, and by the age of six had my own plot at my parents home in Baltimore.  I can still name various tulips given to me at that time.  While most of the boys in my neighborhood played baseball at the local field, I was busy clearing yet another area for plants.  When my parents needed to punish me, they took away my garden-time, and I would be distraught.

Is it any wonder that I became a horticulturist?  I have lived and dreamed plants for a lifetime…avocation meets vocation!
